Secondly, we devoted a large portion of the meeting to discussing launch
sites. Over the last few years we have flown on and lost fields in Perry,
Cartersville, Whitesburg and Braselton. We lost the use of those fields due
to outflying the site, antagonizing neighbors (either due to noise or
trespassing) and/or having too many cars/people on the field. Rules and
restrictions appropriate to each new field will be posted to the club¹s
website and enforced at all launches. SoAR will take a conservative stance
in order to retain fields.

We discussed approaching previous site owners. Super Sod in Perry was the
only one thought to be worthwhile.

New field discussion resulted in:

- Doug will approach his contacts at Sod Atlanta
- Ken will contact utility companies
- Steve Lassiter will contact Bostwick Sod farm and owners of a wheat
field
- Ron will contact owner of Bostwick field
- Terry will contact Jim Miller Park
- Dale Windsor will contact principal at Pitner Elem, Cobb County
Parks and Legacy Sod farm
- Steve Bellio will contact Super Sod in Perry

The goal is to have a multiple low power sites on both east and west sides
of town for monthly mis-fire alley launches within 30-45 minute drive of
Atlanta and to develop mid-power/high power sites. Steve B. will contact
Leonard Boswell to set up dates for SoAR sponsored two-day HP launches in
Lilly.

Terry Bliss presented the Michael¹s/Estes Space Exploration Event for
Scouts. This event will take place in April. Each Michael¹s is sponsoring a
build workshop with kits provided by Estes. SoAR will host launches at Jim
Miller Park the last two weekends in April to support the event. More info
will be coming.

Mick Launch and SOM were briefly discussed, SoAR will hold these events if
appropriate launch sites can be found. Lilly has too many restrictions and
is too far from Atlanta to serve as a site. Perry, Sod Atlanta and Legacy
Sod farm were put forth as possible sites if we can get permission.

Lunch Break/Auction

We ate pizza and bid on rockets kits. A number of OOP and not-so-OOP kits
were auctioned off during the extended break. There were some very good
deals and we showed some integrity not taking advantage of the owner of the
kits.

Meeting resumed with a brief discussion of attending some of the national
and regional rocketry events. NARCON, NSL, LDRS and NARAM are all within a
two-day drive this year. Dale will be attending all of these as LawnDart
Rocketry (with a possibility of leading a workshop at NARCON). Idea
presented was to pool resources, rent a van, pull club trailer, and share
motel rooms to cut costs. Further info coming.

Next on the agenda was the club trailer. Richard Levey has volunteered to
store the trailer, but is unable to haul it to every launch.

It¹s membership renewal time. Dues have been set at $30/year which includes
a club t-shirt. Ron will send out a notice via the SoAR Business e-mail
list. Jeff has volunteered to do phone follow-up.

Very rough launch schedule is:

site, there is a launch in Orangeburg that weekend. We might want to go to
the 14th).

April Jim Miller Park Scout launches TBD
