Officer elections - Officers for 2007 are:
President - Roy Green
V.P. - Jorge Blanco
Treasurer - Remi Stephan
Secretary - Sandy Betilyon
The non-elected positions such as committee chairs and the web master were not discussed, and there will be no changes at this time. Steve offered to handle all waivers issues and FAA contact. That offer was accepted.

Road Runner Rocketry motor vendors needed -

It was announced that Road Runner Rocketry is looking for local launch vendor support to sell their F and G motors. This person will need to acquire a sales tax and business license at the very least.

Spring and FallFest - Roy will make arrangements with Leonard to host the April and October, SoAR 2-day launches at the Lilly site.

Club trailer - The trailer has been recovered in good condition, but all SoAR property that was in the trailer, including the shelving and file cabinet, was removed. In it's place were a variety of items that the Roswell police "gave" to SoAR. We now own a couple of bikes, a gas grill, an electric scooter, a bed and some other items. SoAR will donate some items to needy families and sell, auction or raffle off the remaining items to generate some money. The grill will remain the property of SoAR.

The trailer has been fitted with new and improved locks and has been placed in a highly visible location at the church on highway 92 (where is was stolen from). The tag was stolen. Jorge is working that issue. We discussed putting the SoAR logo on the side of the trailer. Vinyl decals seem to be the best way to accomplish this task. At a later date, we may try to keep the trailer at Mill Springs Academy to solve several different problems and logistical issues.

TARC Teams - Only South Forsythe H.S. has contacted SoAR members for help. This TARC Team was at the launch on the 27th. If a TARC Team contacts you, please do you best to help them.

Public Relations - Amy Wenk may soon be contacted to help with some PR. She apparently works for a small, neighborhood type paper and might be able to help us. Nobody else had any contact info or ideas regarding articles or ads. Roy is looking for better relations with local hobby shops.

10 year SoAR anniversary - Several ideas were discussed. Nothing was agreed upon except that we should do something big for our 10 year anniversary in April. Some kind of big PR event would be grand.

Member involvement - We talked about the lack of member involvement and how to change that. Steve suggested that asking for help was the first thing to do. At the launch yesterday, several guys that he didn't recognize were standing around while 2 members set up the range. As soon as Steve asked them to help, they pitched in and the range got set up a lot faster. ASK FOR HELP!! it's easy and it works. We need help with range maintenance among other things.

Controllers - Jorge is working on new launch controllers. He had a new low-power box at the meeting that looked great. Thanks Jorge!

Low and mid-power pad heads - Roy stated that the pads heads for the low and mid-power pads need to be upgraded. Roy is looking for someone that is handy with welding equipment. All of the range equipment needs to be serviced.

Steve noticed at the launch that the Quad Pods are getting gummed up. The Quad Pods should be cleaned and lubed after every launch. If they're not cleaned soon, key components will seize and our $200 pads will need more than a little white vinegar and grease. We also need new launch rods for the low and mid-power pads.

Mowing the field - MSA expects SoAR to have the field mowed 2-3 times a year at a cost of $400 a mowing. It was clear to everyone at the meeting that we need a way to generate more income. Some of the ideas that were discussed
were...
1) Increased dues
2) Flight fees at each launch
3) Raffle at each launch
4) Selling food and refreshments
5) Selling flight cards (variation on item #2)
It seemed that items number 2, 3, and 5 were the most popular. One or more of those suggestions will probably be put into action soon.

Meeting location(s) - Steve and John offered their houses up as meeting locations on a limited basis. John lives in Kennesaw and Steve lives in Alpharetta. Restaurants were also considered. Nothing was decided, but the next meeting MAY be in March at Steve's house.
